The Pitch We Couldn't Afford Before

How Lightup London walked into a room with a feature that used to be out of reach — and walked out with it greenlit.

There is a whole class of film that never gets made, not because the story is weak but because the maths is impossible. The previz alone would cost more than the option. The schedule takes a month of a producer's life to draft, and another month every time a note comes back. So the ambitious version stays in the drawer and a smaller, safer one goes out instead.

Lightup London builds their pitches on LightsKiddo now. Breakdown, schedule, budget, and previz assemble from the script and stay in lockstep as the idea evolves. When a financier asks the inevitable "what if," the answer reflows in the room instead of taking a fortnight. The feature they used to talk themselves out of became the feature they could actually stand behind.

From a Soho commercial to a feature in the Highlands, their crews stay on one plan — and the cost of dreaming bigger dropped to something a small company can carry.

We walked into a room and pitched a feature we could never have afforded to make before this.

Nad Ashaayer, CEO of Lightup London, is blunt about what changed: the ceiling on what they were allowed to imagine.
