5. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
We use minimal cookies for functionality and analytics.
You can control or block cookies in your browser settings.
We do not use invasive ad-tracking or third-party marketing pixels.
6. AI-BASED PRODUCTS AND THIRD-PARTY AI PROVIDERS
Our Services include features powered by third-party artificial intelligence providers — for script analysis, planning, the AI command bar, voice transcription, text-to-speech, and image and video generation. Before any of these features can be used, the app shows an in-product "Data & AI Services" consent screen during onboarding and you must explicitly tap "I understand and agree." You can review the disclosure and revoke this consent at any time via Account → Manage AI Data Sharing… in the macOS app's menu bar.
6.1 What we send to AI providers
- Text you type or speak into the AI command bar, voice agent, or chat.
- Script text and project metadata (scene headings, character names, shot descriptions) that you ask the AI to analyze.
- Images you attach to a prompt for analysis or as a reference for generation.
- Voice recordings are transcribed locally on your device; only the resulting text is sent to AI providers.
Account credentials, billing information, payment instruments, and team-collaboration data are not sent to AI providers.
6.2 Which third-party AI providers we share with
- Anthropic, PBC (Claude family of models) — script analysis, planning, AI command bar, chat. Privacy policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
- OpenAI, L.L.C. (GPT family of models) — onboarding voice agent, AI command bar. Privacy policy: openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
- FAL.ai, Inc. — AI image and video generation. Privacy policy: fal.ai/legal/privacy-policy.
- ElevenLabs, Inc. — text-to-speech (the onboarding voice agent's spoken output). Privacy policy: elevenlabs.io/privacy.
We have reviewed each provider's published terms and privacy policy and confirm that each provides protections for personal data equivalent to those set out in this Privacy Notice. Each provider is contractually prohibited from using your inputs to train their general-purpose models.
6.3 Training and retention
We do not use your private data to train our own models, and we do not authorize any of the providers above to use your data to train their models. Provider-side request logs are retained only as required by each provider's standard terms for operational diagnostics and abuse prevention.
6.4 Your control
If you revoke AI data-sharing consent in the app, AI features are disabled until you grant consent again. Revocation does not retroactively delete data already sent to providers; to request deletion from a provider, contact us at privacy@light.inc and we will forward your request.
7. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Your data may be stored or processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our partners operate.
We implement safeguards consistent with GDPR and international data protection laws.
8. DATA RETENTION
We retain your data only as long as necessary for legitimate business or legal purposes.
When no longer needed, data is securely deleted or anonymized.

If we learn that a minor has provided personal information, we promptly delete it.
